Young Woman Competition

About the Competition

The Wee Waa Show Society Young Woman Initiative is a program aimed at finding local young women to represent the Wee Waa community in the NSW AgShows Young Woman of the Year Competition. At a local level, the program is a fantastic way to grow confidence and build on skills in networking, interviewing, public speaking, presentation and leadership. With the opportunity to meet with likeminded girls from Wee Waa and the surrounding areas, we highly encourage our local youngwomen to get involved!

Contestants are assessed on their personality, ambition, goals, community involvement, general knowledge and presentation. The competition is not a beauty pageant and is strongly based on an interest in the contributions and achievements of the rural women of Australia.

The Wee Waa Show Society holds the competition annually and has two sections:

Junior Young Woman of the Year (Ages 14 – 17)

Senior Young Woman of the Year (Ages 18 – 25)

All entrants, both senior and junior will have the opportunity to develop a range of important life skills and become involved with our local show, with the winners of each section being awarded a number of gifts and prizes from our generous local sponsors.

Our successful Senior Young Woman will have the opportunity to represent our community at Zone, and then may have the opportunity to compete at State level at the annual Sydney Royal Easter Show
